Welcome to the Beech House
Located in the historic city of St Albans, The Beech House on St Peter's Street opened its doors in September 2014. A convenient 10-minute walk away from St Albans City train station, this former 1930s art deco building has become well known for its artisan coffee, speciality teas, and charcoal-grilled cooking.
Behind the glass façade you’ll find an extensive bar area with a range of comfortable seating options and superfast WiFi connectivity, whilst diners are invited to witness our chefs prepare our Mediterranean-inspired menu in an open kitchen, complete with Josper grill and wood-fired oven.
Open daily from 8am, we serve food made with quality ingredients, traceable from farm to fork. Whether you’re tempted to try a wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, freshly prepared by one of our trained pizzaiolos, or one of our slow-cooked tender British meats, you’ll find dishes to suit your taste and dietary requirements. Families are also well catered to with our bespoke children’s menu and accompanying activity pack.
Completing our offering, our extensive and varied drinks menu includes coffee brewed with Fairtrade certified Grand Cru beans from estates in Colombia, Ethiopia and Rwanda, and a selection of loose-leaf teas from The Tea People. To create our hot chocolate, we melt Kokoa's award-winning giant white, milk or dark chocolate buttons and add them to piping hot milk. Our craft beers and gins are as carefully chosen as our wine, and we proudly sponsor St Albans Rugby Club.
The Oakman Inns Family
Oakman Inns & Restaurants was founded in 2005. Our vision was to create an environment where like-mined people could come and enjoy some great food and drinks whilst catching up with friends, family, neighbours and colleagues.
We quickly won a place in the hearts and minds of local people through our support of local sports teams and community events. Then we started winning awards too. Today we work hard to replicate this recipe in each and every new pub that we open.
